Subject: Thursday June 25, 2009 Luncheon Meeting

Our distinguished guest speaker for the June 25, 2009 luncheon will be Mr. Michael Vorwerk, President, Cargo Network Services Corporation (CNS).  Michael has enjoyed an illustrious career with Lufthansa Cargo where he proudly served for 30 years.  He joined CNS in March of 2009.  We look forward to hearing Mr. Vorwerk give his outlook on how we may facilitate industry change and growth.

Michael Vorwerk was born in Berlin. After graduating from high school, he pursued a professional education in logistics management, where he specialized in “Air Cargo”. He then completed a “Master of International Management” degree at McGill University in Montreal/Canada.

Vorwerk began his career 1979 at Lufthansa in the Cargo Sales department in Berlin. He was given various responsibilities. From 1985 to 1987, Vorwerk was Assistant to Lufthansa’s Cargo Director in Germany. In October 1987, Michael became Director at the Lufthansa Regional Headquarters in France. In 1992 he headed up the Regional Cargo Organization in France. In 1994 Lufthansa added the Iberian Peninsula to his portfolio. In 1995, he transferred to Lufthansa’s Cargo Headquarters of the Americas in Atlanta where he assumed the role of Vice President USA, Canada, and Mexico. In January 2000, Vorwerk returned to Lufthansa Corporate Headquarters in Frankfurt where he reported directly to the Chairman of the Executive Board. The Executive Board appointed Michael Vorwerk to the position of Vice President Global Key Account Management in June 2001. In February 2005, he became Managing Director and COO of LifeConEx, a joint venture of Lufthansa Cargo and DHL Global Forwarding based in Plantation, Florida.

The Board of Directors of Cargo Network Services Corporation (CNS) appointed Michael Vorwerk, effective 1 March 2009, President of CNS, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the International Air Transportation Association (IATA), and based in Miami, Florida.

Come and join us at 11:45 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Ramada Plaza JFK to hear Mr. Michael Vorwerk give his outlook on how we may facilitate industry change and growth.
